Former First lady, Patience Jonathan, has accused operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, of sending assassins after her and bugging her phone.
She made the allegation in a petition she sent to the House of Representatives, filed by her counsel, Granville Abibo (SAN) & Co. Part of the petition reads;
There have been assassination attempts, at least twice, between February and April, 2017, against our client ostensibly by the operatives of the EFCC along the Yenagoa-Mbaima Road, Bayelsa State, in furtherance of its unlawful actions against the former first family.
The EFCC and its agents have repeatedly bugged the personal telephones of our client and her relations through its many operatives and has inundated her with numerous threatening calls and text messages.
The antigraft agency has been investigating the former First lady over allegations of fraud and abuse of office.
